Don't Waste Your Time

Now that I have your attention! I know that the new Fad in weight loss is HCG injections for weight loss. Now I am overweight and decided to give this a try to assist in my weight loss goals, last year. I made an appointment with the doctor and went to my first appointment. Now begins the realization!

First of all most insurances will NOT cover the injections. So typically you will have to pay around $25.00 per injection. Secondly pay close attention to what the doctor says.

Anyway, I go into the doctors office and wait in the room. The doctor comes in and spoke with me about medical conditions, what I have tried, and how much weight I need to lose. A nurse took my measurements and weight. Then the doctor proceeds to discuss the "guidelines" of using the injections. Now this is where I should have walked away but it didnt dawn on me until a few weeks later that I was wasting my hard earned money!!

Guidelines Given to me by the Doctor:

1. Come once a week for the injection. (given in the tummy)

2. No more than 1,000 calories per day.

3. Exercise at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. (Suggested Stair Climbing)

4. Water and only Water, no soda, milk, coffee, or juice. (Juice had to be 100% juice w/ no sugar)

5. Take your prescription weight loss meds!

Now, I have all of my information and I am ready to begin the journey to a new me! Oops, dont forget I mentioned that it is a waste of money to get the injections! Now we will get to that. Lets Recap on my instructions from the Doctor and see if you can find the flaws!

1. Come once a week for injections. Okay first of all each time you go, the doctor gets insurance money for the visit and cash money from you for the injection. So they are getting paid twice.

2. Eat only 1,000 calories per day. Now I dont know if you caught this, but the average diet is 2,000-2,500 calories per day. So basically you are living off of a lot of fruits and veggies, with some meat (very small portion) per day! Now if you dont lose pound on 1,000 calories per day something is wrong! Your half starved, feeling bad, and hungry all the time!

3. Exercise 5 times a week. Now exercise is great, wonderful for the body and mind! BUT when you take in only 1,000 calories per day, and exercise to lose the weight, you also lose all of the calories for that day, so you are running on fumes! How can anyone survive that way! The truth is they can, however, they are not going to be the most energetic person to be around.

4. Water and only water. Not a problem we all need to drink more water.

5. Oh my favorite! Take your medication! Phentermine, Bontil, or whatever prescription weight loss/ appetite supprecent the doctor gives you. Now if the injections were that great, what is the need for the extra medication??

Now, have you noticed the flaw in the program. Even without the injections you WILL drop pounds, your half starved, burning off all calories in your body, and miserable. (typical diet) But here lies the problem, what did the injections do?? Not a thing, you cant say the injections caused the weight loss, the lifestyle did! Hmm, 1,000 calories a day (starving), Exercising 5 days a week (burn up all your calories and then some), and take meds (for weight loss/appetite suppresent). Those 3 all by themselves will cause a drastic drop in weight, as well as well being and energy loss.

I know that this is alot to take in , and this is a personal experience. However, given my experience I would recommend that you dont waste your time or money on these injections. This seems to be just another fad to waste time and money, when this is not the time to be wasting anything! Good luck to you all!

The HCG Diet done properly works 2 years ago

First of all, let me make it known that I am the executive director of one such HCG clinic in Florida, so that everyone knows that this isn't anything I'm trying to hide. Next, I'm not sure which clinic you went to or which hCG protocol they are using, but I believe that you were given some false information which may explain why you did not lose weight with the program.

According to the main hCG protocol from founder Dr. Simeons, one is supposed to have one hCG injection per day, not per week. The reason is not what you might think. On the outside, and from the info you've shared here, one might think that it is just to get more money out of a patient, but that is not the case. The purpose of the hCG hormone in this weight loss treatment is to help regulate the body's metabolism in a healthy way. If someone has not been doing the best to take care of their body for many years, then there are many years of damage and bad habits to correct when it comes to the metabolism. Injections are given once daily to begin that correction process.

Next, diets of between 500 and 1,000 calories are a part of most hCG protocols. However, extreme or above-moderate exercise is not normally recommended during treatment as most weight loss specialists do not want patients to over-exert themselves. Mild exercise is ok if the patient wishes just to keep in shape, but it is not a necessity of the program. However, moderate or above exercise may be recommended or performed once treatment is over to aid in weight maintenance once goal weight is achieved.

Furthermore, while calories are energy there are great options of food that can provide you with the energy and other essential nutrients your body needs without added calories. Most of what the average person eats is full of unnecessary calories, which is where the 2,000/2,500 calorie per day average comes from. Many of those calories come from preservatives and other additives that are not good for the body. Whole, organic foods contain far less harmful calories while providing the nutrients to give your body plenty of energy and also aid the metabolism.

Last, the main protocols do not call for additional weight loss drugs or prescriptions. I do not believe such is necessary, and I have seen many patients who have successfully reached their weight loss goals without the aid of additional drugs.

Perhaps your experience was just a product of working with the wrong doctor of clinic, as there are many out there who have seen success from the hCG diet. While it may not be for everyone, but it should not be ruled out completely. Do plenty of research, ask questions, get second and third opinions and make an informed decision from there.

I just had to add a comment as well. I am in the middle of my 40 day HCG program and I agree with Dennis Hansen. You went to the wrong place for your weight loss program. Dr. Simions Pounds and Inches protocol is what I am following and I have lost 18 1/2 pounds in 23 days and feel so great! I am eating 500 cal. per day and the HCG helps me utilize my stored fat. I have been able to exercise and even did a 28 mile bike ride yesterday. I have a great doctor who is monitoring my progress and has hosted seminars about HCG and has found success with his patients who are on this program. Also, the HCG is givin by injection into the thigh muscle daily (with one day off per week), with a total of 40 injections given per 6 week period. Do so more research and try again; it is the last diet I will have to do:)

I agree with both of the comments.

Also, I dont understand why you think a Doctor would be able to double bill for hCG injections if insurance doesn't pay for it. You said it yourself.

By the way, a thousand calories a day for someone who has a lot of weight to lose is all but starving.

yeah, I also agree with the above comments. Im sorry to say, but you got duped by the doctor and that is so wrong. Look up the protocol and it has to be injected once a day. Do a little bit more research on the hcg protocol. I genuinely believe this is the way to go and sad that a doctor may have turned you completely off to this weight loss cure that truly works! best of luck!

p.s. only injections work. homeopathic hcg drops are a scam!

I agree with the above posts, you obviously didn't do the research and went to the wrong clinic (there are a lot of scams out there). I do an injection a day and I follow the 500 calorie diet by Dr. Simeons. I am seeing amazing results and couldn't be happier!

years ago i did the hcg injections my experience was nothing like yours i ate what i wanted to and did not excerise and lost plenty of weight and it stayed off now that i am older i see all the other hcg diets that they have but i am looking for someone to do the injection again not say that the drops don't help but i no for a fact the injections did

Michelle 4 weeks ago

I have just started the hcg diet. I inject myself once daily and each week my hcg doses get higher. Its been years since I've felt this good! Also I have lost weight 5 PDs in a week without exercise and truthfully. I eat more then 500 calories a day and I'm still losing weight. I have tried a lot of diets and none of them have been successful except for the hcg diet. I read the first story of the poor person who got ripped off. Go to a different dr. That's sad what happened to you! I AM living proof that the diet does work. By the way. The drs visit only costs me $50.00 a month and $60.00 a month for the hcg daily injections medication! Don't give up! Go to a different Dr. And try the hcg diet again! Good luck to you!
